When selling your item’s on eBay always be honest and truthful. Describe all the features, benefits and flaws of your items in a fair and honest manner. Do not oversell or try to make your item sound better than it really is. For example do not describe something as being in “Excellent” condition when it is actually used and worn.
I have purchased a couple of items on eBay that were described as Excellent, Like New only to get them and find out that they were far from Excellent and Like New. One was a collectible McDonald’s plate that was bubbled on the top from being in the microwave. The straight on pictures did not show this flaw and it was not mentioned in the, Excellent Like New, description.
Yes this may raise your bid price but if you get a negative feedback and lose the possibility of a repeat customer then does it really matter? When selling on eBay you are in business for the long term. When you are not truthful you are only looking at the short term profit and losing out on the possibilities of a long term successful business.
If you accidentally forgot or missed a flaw when listing your item on eBay contact the buyer immediately and let them know. Admit your mistake, apologize and give them a choice of a refund or a discount. We are all human and we all make mistakes. Normally if you admit your mistake the bidder will forgive you and give you a positive feedback for your honesty and you will have gained a loyal customer.
